March 22nd 2019 a date I will not forget.
The Gold Coast Girls In Business awards night was a fun filled night of excitement and nerves.
I received an email that I was nominated for business awards, I had no idea.
I was totally awe struck, excited and WOW!! all in one go. I read the email 3 times or maybe more. The following day I read It again, oh I have to do some submissions and video of me and answer some questions, right I got this..I had It all done for 3 categories and all in time, Phew!
Then another email came through, OH MY GOSH!!! I'm a finalist, woo hoo..
I got most charitable business as a finalist, and I feel so proud of me and my achievements, to be recognised by my peers for all the hard work I have done helping out charities and feeding the homeless.
The next day still dumb founded..I had a dress in my wardrobe, not yet worn but needed a little alteration, plus I had shoes. I'm still in control all good..
No wait do I need a make up artist, do I need hair stylist ?..
This is something I have never done before. Never been to a debutante, never had the opportunity when I got married twice to do all this, fairytale Cinderella stuff..
This is nerve racking, and then do I drive my car or Uber It?
My dress got passed around by a few lovely ladies that were helping to put straps on it for me, Thursday afternoon I picked up my dress, It's all ready for Friday night March 22..
I thought I was going to go all by myself, I was prepared to step out of my comfort zone on all levels, and Di messages me, She came from Brisbane to attend the event with me, I am so thankful I had a plus 1 and I didn't go by myself.
I had the most amazing fun laughs and dancing, Some of us got up and did the YMCA and nut bush. The food was awesome and so were the other attendees.
I didn't win the top gong that night, however I sure did win a whole lot of other things instead.
My name was mentioned as a finalist, I got to dress up and feel like a million dollars, and I haven't been out and about for a long time. I caught up with friends and associates and acquaintances that I have not seen for a while. Best of all I had the best time and so grateful and honoured to be recognised by my peers
